Leading, Tracking, and Kerning
Text editing (the look, not the content) has three main categories: leading, tracking, and kerning. Every time I go to edit text, however, I forget what each of them mean and, I have to look them up. So I’ve decided to write them down, in the hopes that I will finally remember what they mean, and that together we can use them to level up our text design!
Leading: The vertical distance between the lines of text.
Tracking: The horizontal distance between two letters or characters. (A nimal)
Kerning: The horizontal space between the letters of an entire word. (A n i m a l)
